My door is hard to open?

RE: My door is hard to open?
that's one of those you pull up to some punk with subs and you tell him your sound system is provided by flowmaster. I always thought that was funny. yeah no speaker build out would make the panels less costly

RE: My door is hard to open?
Hey Bwebb Stang, try this. With the door open, close the latch with a screw driver. Pull on the inside door handle like normal, if it opens easier then the panels are catching on somthing. If the door is still hard to open, try lubricating the latch assembly. If the handle does not spring back after pulling it open, then the spring in the latch is wore out. I am having the same problems in my 93. I am going to order a new latch.

I hope this helps, Dave

RE: My door is hard to open?
the interior is currently under construction. changing from a grey dash to a black one. i will be getting a set of panels from www.customrearseatdelete.com. I like those, but I will have do a little more work on it. i want to delete the inner handle and run electric openers for the doors with an emergency lever. i dont know when i will be buying them.

dont mean to hijack the thread, but, i have a similar problem. sometimes my drivers door doesn't open from the inside, the handle works normally, just doesn't seem to open the latch, until i pull the door in a bit, then it opens. nothing wrong with the hinges, perfect alignment.

hey Bwebb Stang, is your door shutting hard or is it shutting normal? if it is shutting hard then something is probably hitting the door panel, if it shuts fine then i dont think the door panels are catching on anything.
In response to mattdel, check to make sure the rod that connects the inside door handle to the latch (door panel needs to removed) is moving the same distance as the handle is being pulled. sometimes the rod needs to be bent alittle more. if the rod is moving, try lubricating latch. also, make sure the striker plate is not adjusted to far in. if the striker is too far in, it will cause the door to open hard. if none of this helps, then you are in the same boat as Bwebb Stang a nd myself, new latch.
