Clutch life?

RE: Clutch life?
Ive run the king cobra for a while, my flywheel was on its way out before the clutch. I drive VERY aggressively, the KC doesnt slip AT ALL. So +1, its the driver not the clutch SO STOP RIDING IT! Mine grips so hard I had to replace my flywheel becuase it had spider cracks on the clutch area that you could see light through. STill think the KC is a POS? But I think you guys are wasting your money on the aftermarket clutches. Youre just paying for a fancy box and advertising. In my '79 I used the stock pressure plate but a super HD clutch disk, had like 6 or 8 springs in it, that thing NEVER slipped, even at 5k launches on slicks.

RE: Clutch life?
the dick is what makes up how long it last, the pressure plate makes up most of the grip... you can by a bad as clutch disc and use the stock PP and it won't make a ton of difference... but on the same tocken you can use a stock CD and use a bad *** PP and it will grip like crazy but won't last as long ,if you take of normal (VERY slight slipping)... you need a steady balance between a good CD and a good PP to get the best effect

RE: Clutch life?
I run a McLeod 500 Series 10.5" Disk with a King Cobra Pressure plate.
I have gotten a whole racing season out of it with some weekend beatings.
Thats with 587 RWHP leaving at 5500-6000 RPMs on 10.5" Slicks
MCLEOD CLUTCHS ARE KICK ***!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
