Ummmm, why would you put a h/c/i package on a crate motor that already has heads and cam? Do you mean a short block?

If money is no concern I would look at a 347 crate motor, then get the trick flow H/C/I package. Spend like a k in suspension, and a TKO 600 with 3.73's. That would make the thing better then just about anything on the road.

If money was no option for me id start with the basics. Give it a good tuneup including a 180 Thermo atleast, exhaust, better gears, and some subframe connectors atleast. Id upgrade the stock rad for better cooling. Next would be a 5 lug swap with 4-wheel discs (new rims of course) and then swap out the stock bushings for polys with adjustable shocks and struts. Id drive it for a while and get used to the chassis setup.
Then id tackle the motor once i felt ready. Either a built stroker or stocker with H/C/I maybe a S/C or nitrous if you like (i like NA for some reason). I look at it this way...do the suspension first and build yourself a solid foundation for the go fast goodies youll be adding later. Some do it all in one shot,suspension,driveline,motor etc. and thats fine. Just take it slow. And the most important of all...shiney side up!
And BTW,the friend that just 'gave' you the Stang...you owe them BIG lol.

personaly it depends on what you would like to do with the car my setup might be diffrent from what you would want but here it is 1995 mustang gt, i have a saleen suspension setup saleen bodykit saleen rims yokohoma advan tires strut tower braces antiswaybars recaro sport seats and a viper alarm for the motor it has about 400 hp it has a p1sc procharger 65 mm throutle body ported intake and a header back exaust,and on order i have a camshaft ford racing e303 cam a snow performance methanol injection kit a tremec t56 transmision an msd ignition kit for a 5.0 a 70mm throutle body an aluminum driveshaft and a new dssracing short block i am going to see what kind of horse the new setup will bring with tuning i think close to 580hp
