thats good, if there are cracks on the front bumper you get they will have to be sanded down to the plastic so they won't show through eventually.
+1 on the flex additive to prevent future cracks.
+1 on using lower number paper, i worked in a body shop for a while and we used 600 as the highest grit before painting
also, make sure it is properly cleaned before painting.
