Default Intake

will replacing just the top part of an intake manifold help out any? or is it a combination of both or the bottom part?

the exploder intake.. is like a gt40 or a cobra.. the exploder upper will bolt to a gt40 or a cobra lower.. but not to a stock 5.0l lower..

Plus, correct me if im wrong, but the exploder intake is designed to maxime torque imput whilest completely obliterating horsepower. You would want a combination of the two, of which i have heard that the Trick Flow set is a nice catch, as well as the Edelbrock

it wont fit because the bottom portion of you intake is square while the top portion of the intake are circles.

Yep, the Explorer ports are staggered, the Stang is straight.

you'd need the upper and lower, and from a pre 97.5 explorer, GT40, not GT40P (requires different heads and headers). You'll want to increase the dia of your MAF, TB, EGR Spacer to match the inlet diameter of the new intake, which ever you choose.

ive heard that the ford GT40 upper/lower intake is pretty good
