Default 351w bore and stroke?

This isn't going to be a daily driver and gas mileage is no concern to me. I want to put in a 351w and for the time being bore and stroke it and try to run a 10.1 or higher compression ratio to make some nice numbers. What is a large but reasonable bore and stroke for this motor? and is there anywhere i can buy kits? I dont want to be spliting the block or having problems because i dont have the money to be replacing it so i want it to be big but modest. Any help would be appriciated.

thanks as always

i usually agree with adder on alot of things.... and yes a 408 is very nice.. but i would say a 427 FTW.

www.fordstrokers.com

nothing but Coast High kits for less, best prices I've seen so far.

you have couple of options on stroker kits.
both of these are .03 over bore

393W ............ stock rod length, 3.85" stroke, shorter 302 pistons
uses smaller pistons so it has less
rotating mass than 408 so will spool up quicker

or

408W ............ 4" stroke with 6.125" rods
cubes baby cubes!!!!!!

supposedly 427's arent the best for street engines.

Nice 10:1 engine with good head/cam combo will make 500+hp
or well 400rwhp n/a and run great on pump gas.
Throw a 150 shot on there on race day and hold on to your a$$

why arent the 427 good for a street engine? that is the final stage of my build up for my 86.. 427W roller with a turbo... but if there are bad things about it maybe i will do the 393 cause i like the fact that it will spool up quicker then the 408 and that would help with a turbo.

427 is just taking it to the max in stroke.
any time you walk the edge you can step over it.

393 is supposed to be the best or least stressful on parts
there's a lot that goes into it, like piston velocity, piston weight, rod ratio

I'm juggling the idea of a 393w vs the 408w...

what would be the power difference and would the 408 spool up THAT much slower?

and i'm sorry if i type something wrong or ask a retarde question... i'm on perkaet right now causei got my wizdom teeth removed this morning.
