I bought an my '87 GT from an old guy who couldnt drive it too... Just change the gaskets and if it still does it pray lol

I have an 88 LX 5.0. and i had the same problem with the oil pressure being very low at idle according to the factory guage. I checked the oil pressure with a guage I borrowed from my mechanic and found out I had alot more pressure then my factory guage was telling me. I went out and bought an aftermarket guage and that fixed the problem--no more worries!!
