yea, my understanding is that the T5 isn't meant to be launched hard on, and not for high hp app's which makes sense because its a factory tranny from a 200hp vehicle... so i guess it's life al depends on its driver, rebuilds at shop are about $1500 inclluding parts/labor

if you have the t-5 use it, it might hold depending how u drive... but if you have to buy a tranny any way might as well spend the extra money and buy a good one.... and this is coming from a guy that loves the t-5 haha

Since your already auto why not stay that way go get a PA Super Comp trans or hell even a PA Comp trans. Super comp will hold 1000 and comp will do 750. Both can be had under 2000 brand new get a refurb PA trans for 1200 - 1500 and never wrk about ur trans again!! Also the T-5 is a great trans. Would be even a better trans if we had people who knew how to take care of them!!

P.S. Need major help in uploading pics someone help!!!

How do you guys think a T5 would handle 5K launches and power shifts with a bolt on engine and DR's or ET Streets?

I had a stock T5 in my car for a long time. I don't know what my rwhp was but I was running low to mid 12s in 3390 pound car using slicks. My sixty foots were high 1.60s. If you are going to use a stock one for a while just once a year take it out and check your bearing preloads and power shift.

it'll take the launches depending on the power your pushing... and most trannys can't take powershifting
