Christmas List

RE: Christmas List
could be that it is going bad. I would check the fuel pressure at the Scharader valve on the supply line under the hood to see what kind of pressure it is putting out before I rush right out to replace it though. when you changed the filter, did you notice whether all the attachment clips were in place and tight on the fuel line so it doesn't vibrate against the frame and make a lot of noise? if you pressure was higher than 40 psi, make sure the fuel pressure regulator has the vacuum line properly attached so it can bleed the excess fuel pressure back to the tank. if there is no recirculation of fuel, the the pump might be making extra noise, so check the regulator too.

RE: Christmas List
on my 88 it is on the main fuel supply line in the vertical section coming up on the passenger side of the engine right behind and slightly under the alternator. looks like a tire filler valve with a cap on it sticking out of the line.

But i have another question. What would be the smartest thing for me to get next? Headers, rear control arms, or a new fuel pump(even if it is still working fine i will need a more powerful one eventually right?)?
