2) easier in city traffic, which I see a lot of. And it free's up a hand for the phone calls, eating, drinking, etc.

A good reason you should have a manual is because you can't do any of the above while driving.

if you like to shift alot and play 5speed.
I like the control and traction of my built AOD, plus I live in the city, its not really the trans but how much power you have to play with

i enjoy my auto but ive really been gettin the itch for a manual lately. manual tranny gives the driving experience another dynamic that you dont get with an auto. imo

consistency wins at the track. so if you build a track car it should be a built auto ftw... but i would never build an auto of any kind as a street/strip car. that's obviously my opinion

RE: 5 speed vs. Auto
My 87 is a stick car and its great but I have a fear of breaking it. These t5's don't hold power at all. At the shop I work at we get a bunch of cars and broncos w/ t5's that have either second or 3rd gear missing. My 86 was a auto car, I had a lot of fun with it. It had a shift kit and chirped second and on slicks I never had a fear of breaking it. With a stick I'm afraid to even stick the slicks on my car. There is also to much room for error when your shifting in a race. Sometimes shifting just seems to annoy me some mornings. Sticks can be fun but I can have just as much fun with an auto.

I have had two stick, and two auto Mustangs and it always seems that when I have one I want the other. The logical thing to do is to get one of each, but most people (including myself) can't do this. Given the choice I prefer a built auto because it combines the best of both worlds-you can shift it when you want, or just leave it in D in traffic
