I like 5 speeds better because I never learned how to drive automatic. Seriously though, I've just always owned sticks and hated autos. Stock for stock, they just perform better and give the driver more control. By the way, I've been driving stick for like 17 years, so I never feel like it's a pain in the *** in traffic or anything. It just feels normal to me. My wife on the other hand, drove stick for three years, and then decided that she preferred auto.

I agree with Twisted (although I don't want to ) but I wanted a 5 speed and got an auto............

I wish i had a 5 speed everyday of my life.

except when I SQUALL a 2nd and watch my tach climb back to 5600 RPMs.....................

Ok I dont really want a 5 speed.........

5 speed FTW, but sometimes an auto would be nice. To down shift, or clutch it and burn em..can't beat that. The fact that you can always find the perfect power spot is the reason I like them.

i wont drive automatics anymore, unless its in a drag car. i mean, autos are great in city driving, and traffic jams, but i get bored when i drive one. I like being able to choose when I shift and unless you get a shift kit you cant really do that in an auto. but autos can be fun with a shift kit, its all personal opinion though
i agree, 100%, and also agree w. the poster right above me... manual is just more fun for a DD, plain and simple.... and i deal w. traffic w. mine... its ok w. me.

i just wanna say that if youre chirping SLICKS when shifting to second with an AOD..i'd be terrified of breaking that trans. ..or any trans for that matter unless it was bulletproof, i hate ford autos myself. c4s were ok..c6's were great transmissions. i never really warmed up to aods though.. they're just..eh. if i were building an all out doorslammer drag car, as in not a top fuel or a funny car, i'd use a powerglide from a gm. sorry but they're just great drag racing transmissions. not a lot internally, and 2 gears..really all you need.

and after i get my 331 done i'll be figuring out how i can hydraullicly operated manual trans instead of a cable operated one. if you've never driven a hydraulic clutch you're missing out theyre amazing and 03482593205720 times better than a cable operated one. and uh i just brought my regal home from school, i rebuild the turbo 350 and put a shift kit in it. it shifts HAAARD and 2nd gear goes on forever. but i'd still take a 5 or 6 speed over it.
