5speed FTW! its all opinion, do you want consistent track times? or do you want a fun street car? don't get me wrong, AOD's are fun if done properly, but a 5speed will destroy AOD stock.

Unfortunately, I have to agree. all else being equal, the 5 speed will eath up the AOD / AODE. But as he stated, if done correctly they can be fun!

I have an AODE myself, but I installed a shift kit and a ratchet shifter. Then I alteres my shift points after I put in the 3.73s. If I want, i can leave it in D and have fun. Or I can shift 1-2-D manually and hold each gear as long as I want with the ratchet shifter.

I went with auto for 2 reasons:

1) the other half can't drive stick AT ALL!!! LoL. She can't even figure out how to shift with a ratchet shifter, lol. Has a hard enough time putting it in D that way.

2) easier in city traffic, which I see a lot of. And it free's up a hand for the phone calls, eating, drinking, etc.

i wont drive automatics anymore, unless its in a drag car. i mean, autos are great in city driving, and traffic jams, but i get bored when i drive one. I like being able to choose when I shift and unless you get a shift kit you cant really do that in an auto. but autos can be fun with a shift kit, its all personal opinion though

i enjoy my auto but ive really been gettin the itch for a manual lately. manual tranny gives the driving experience another dynamic that you dont get with an auto. imo

a manual lets you get a lil more personal with a car, not like an auto.
