it will come out but you need to rotate it until it comes through. it can be a pain but do not not mess up the hole.

Im guessing this a first for you? No problem.

Never use anything metal to break that lockring loose, its asking for trouble. Youre lucky it didnt spark and explode. A RUBBER mallet and a BRASS punch is much safer, or even a block of wood. Remember that.

The sock filter will give you grief trying to take everything out and put it back together. Just move it around for a bit, itll go where its supposed to. And dont stretch anything unless you want leaks. And be gentle with the rubber seal when you put the filler pipe back in, use a light coating of oil and should slide back in just fine if you have trouble.

The plastic clips on the fuel lines are available at most parts stores should you break one, i did just that somehow. Theyre not more than a few bucks if that even.

ok guys thanx for all the info got the pump out an yes its my first mustang fuel pump.i use to build imports back in the day their were under the seats anywayz got it out now i need to get some fuel line clips an butt connectors u guys were right keep spinin it thanx alot guys ur the best!

ok back again guys got the pump out rewired the pump got it all back together now im having trouble puttin it back in.any sug?

You should NEVER use a screwdriver on the fuel tank. Use a brass tap or something else that will not cause a spark.

put it back in the same way it came out lol what exactly are you having trouble with?

i dunno, i guess its cool to be safe, but i've done probably 200 fuel pumps, and i've never had a spark using a screwdriver. you place the tip in the corner of the lip and it doesn't move, no spark.

lol tryin to get it so i can screw it down ive been turnin it for the past 2hours with breaks in the middle cuz my neck hurts lol i cant get it all the way down in to latch it tight

haha i knew ud say that did that allready lol i just tried puttin it back in an the pump hit the bottom of the tank to i started turnin it i pulled it up a little bit an it wont go down str8 well im gunna keep tryin got my brother commin over to help in a littlewhile but i gotta figure it out before he comes lol
