Default Swaybar?

I was wondering if any of you guys have tried aftermarket swaybars and what kind of improvements have you achieved? My suspension is pretty much stock but it was never beat on so it is tight and I lowered with an eibach pro-kit. I am just looking for fairly cheap suspension improvements. Thanks

I bought an ADCO front anti-roll sway bar, Lakewood Action/Traction lowers/ UPR uppers with polyurethane bushings, a strut tower, caster/cambor plates and subframe connectors and it made all the difference in the world.

Do you have subframe connectors and caster/cambor plates? I'd assume since your car is lowered you have caster/cambor plates, but if not you absolutely should. Subframe connectors are a must too.

Get some Tokico shocks/struts from ebay (jdmwerks) for $227 shipped. Your stock shocks/struts are probably beat down. Also, subframes will help the most as far as rigidity.

Oh, and throw a 5.0 in there!!!!!

Also, grab a set of Energy Suspension endlinks and sway bar bushings. The stock rubber ones wear out.

You can make great power w/ the 4-banger if you grab a turbo and SVO computer. A guy on my local forum is pushing over 300rwhp w/ his 86 SVO.....

I am actually asking these questions for my 5.0 coupe. I also have an 86 SVO thats where 2300 comes from. I was thinking about doing tokico or the kyb adjustables and sway bars like I said I dont have too much money. I have subframes in my SVO but i am gonna get bolt ons for the 5.0. I'll check out the Addco Sways. Thanks

Oh...that's cool. If you are on a limited budget, the non adjustables will be cheaper. The tokico HP's are the same as the Illumina's if they were adjusted to a mid-range setting. KYB GR2's are cheaper, but I've heard both good and bad about them.

Also, I wouldn't get bolt on subs....they don't work as well. The weld on's are much sturdier and provide more stiffening.
