Use the clutch, but stay on the gas. Just as fast and less likely to break.

Ok, here it goes 3.73 gears and a 5 speed. What are most of you launching at! All I do is roast tires. Now dont laugh cause I had a blowout and Now I only have a drag radial on the left rear and a 255/45/17 street radial on the right rear and it just fries the tires. Also I hear some folks talking about power shifting with out the clutch. IS this possible? Is there a benifit? Or is it just a bad idea?
yeah it benefits a transmission rebuilder any type of power shifting a t-5 is a bad idea

I shift without a clutch all the time, as long as you're careful.. it saves wear and tear on your clutch componets, I just dont do it when racing.. it's just like driving a dumptruck.

from what i hear shifting with out a clutch will wear out your syncros faster, and i cant see how you can power shift with out the clutch

from what I thought powershifting is when you dont let off the gas when you shift.

dont know what trans you are using to powershift without the clutch but I cant see it being a t-5.

you can shift without the clutch but you have to wait a little between shifts so the rpm can come down a little.

I thought you were waiting for the syncros to be inline or whatever and thats why i think its impossible to powershift with out a clutch and it be faster, it just doesnt make sense

flat shifting=clutch but keep foot on gas

If you rev match the trans with the wheels, you can shift without the clutch, but its a slow shift and it has to be perfect.
