Default FUEL LEAK!!

WATS UP i have a big problem. im smelling gas around the engine bay of my car. ive got a 88 5.0. i noticed a large drop in gas mileage too so i kno something is wrong for sure. anybody got any ideas? im thinkin the fuel lines or the fuel filter but i am having trouble locating exactly where the leak is. any ideas guys?

ccould be the orings on the injectors or the fuel lines. just smoke a cigarette while looking for it and im sure you'll find it! lol just kidding

if u smell it mainly in the engine bay -- the it shouldn't be the filter, because that's in the back.

pop the hood and look around the fuel rail/injectors for some fuel laying on the intake. if you can't see any, start the car and look around with a good light (preferably not an old-school trouble light with a bulb, because heat+gas=BOOM sometimes )

i would guess you've got an injector leaking where it meets the fuel rail, probably a bad o-ring like stated above

oh thanks for the ideas. i think its on the driver side bank. theres sum residue that has the thin feel of gas but it doesnt smell like it. it could be running down from the fuel line though. the problem is i have the edelbrock performer rpm intake manifold on it so i cant really see the fuel injectors. any ideas??

Dont forget to check around the fuel regulator. Good chance its an injector like the others said. The downer there is youll need to remove the upper intake to get to them all.
