Default 5 lug conversion brake lines (wantin braided ones)

The stang I bought has the 5 lug conversion. But I didnt do it, so I dont know what all was done exactly. Does the conversion use the same mustang brake lines? I was wanting to get braided ones, and was wondering if I can just get mustang ones. They look like average brake lines. ?

Kinda hard to say what the guy used since we can't see it. I mean, if it's ok, why bother it? You can get braided flex line for the front from Maximum motorsports.

He said it was stuff from a Lincoln Mach 5 89-93. Said it uses the same discs that the SVO uses. So I thought that the calipers and lines would be the same. I figured there is only so much Ford stuff that can fit.

Maby you can answer this too. Were SVO's only made from 84-86? Because when looking for discs. I can only find SVO stuff for those years. So I figure that is the SVO stuff that fits. Plus... the five lug conversion that was done was done from a 88 T-bird super coup. So it also has discs on the rear. So he took some 4 lug discs and had them drilled to 5 lugs. He said there was a plate I could get that would relocate the rear caliper so I could use those 5 lug SVO discs. The place he told me of doesnt have them. Do you know where I can get them?

TY for you help.

SVO's were indeed made from 84-86. Up front, the Lincoln Mark VII uses the same rotors as the SVO's, they just have ABS exciter rings on the back of them. Those make no difference.

The 5 lug was NOT done from an 88 TURBO coupe, none of the fox body thunderbirds came with 5-lug, i had to do the conversion on mine. Supercoupes use a totally different chassis. The way most thunderbird guys go 5-lug is using SN95 axles, brakes and brackets, which would put a fox mustangs rear wheels out about 3/4 of an inch per side. Keep in mind, SVO's also had rear disks in the rear, same as the Mark VII.

You have any pics of your rear brake setup, i can help you find out what you have back there much easier with a picture.

Did the T-bird have rear 4 lug discs? Maby thats what it was. Because the discs were 4 lug drilled to 5.

Yes, the Turbo Coupe had 4 lug disk brakes.

The dude probably use an SN95 axle, and drilled the rotors to fit. Very common.
