rear end had to turn?
I was takeing the axle shafts out of my 8.8 in my mustang. I got the car recently so i dont know anything about its past, but the rear end is VERY hard to turn.. Its almost like the parking brake is lightly set makeing a huge drag even though thats not the case because the brakes are off.
The car drives down the road perfectly fine with no noises, and Id think it would be makeing noises if something was wrong with it.-
are these axles suppose to be hard to turn over? I had the automatic in neutral while doing this. What could cause this to be hard if its not normal.

RE: rear end had to turn?
Try dropping the drive shaft, that will isolate the rear end... Even though it's in neutral, your still turning the drive shaft and some componants in the tranny... I've seen things like worn out u-joints cause problems like that...

how does friction modifier do to make it spin easer? I mean i can see it then it has oil put this is when I was rotating it over to slide the clips out. I litterally had to use prying force to turn it over.

i agree in droppin the driveshaft and turning, shouldn' t be that hard to turn the axles...have you inspected the spider gears in your trak lok, also be sure someone didn't over shim the trak lok causing it to bind up, if it has been replaced or has aftermarket gears.
