RE: turbo
wrong
the hellion kit does come with new injectors and fuel pump
and any turbo install is going to require a good dyno tune
singel turbo kits for stangs tie both sides of the exahsut togther with a cross over pipe
so that ALL exhaust is routed thru the turbo.
Yes, if you have welding experience and the tools you can do a homemade
turbo kit for about $2,500-$3,500, with most parts avaibable on ebay

that kit doesnt mention anything about bigger injectors or anything to tune with. I see it has an upgraded fuel pump and a afpr, but that will only help fuel delivery to a certain extent. You could probably piece together a kit like that yourself for around $2000. That's what I'm doing with mine.
If I'm understanding this right, only the passenger side manifold is spooling the turbo? The driver side is just a normal shorty header? Sorry, I've had some boosted dsms in the past, but never a turbo V8. Won't that cause premature valvetrain failure on 1 bank due to the different amounts of back pressure between both banks? Or is the backpressure still the same?

The Hellion kit comes with everything. You just open the box, put it on, and then take it to get tuned.

would it be smart to get the supporting mods done first? like the fuel pump and injectors before even getting the turbo or supercharger? Will my car run okay if i do these mods but don't have a turbo or supercharger on it yet? Also, is it possible to turn the boost down real low on either one if i don't want to have boost sometimes, but then sometimes i do? or is that not possible? I ask that because maybe it would help keep my engine going longer if i'm not always driving with boost...... thanks for the help!

Turbos are not for the faint of heart, and require a great bit of knowledge.

RE: turbo
+1 DYI turbo is not hard to do ............. if you know what you're doing..........
best thing is to find a kit you like, then copy how they route and install everything.
I would love one, and the power they make is AWESOME, but *****! they're are a lot of work to install
specially for people like me who already have a custom engine installed.

RE: turbo
thanks for the sites r.barn. i'll check them out. Do you think it might be wise to look into superchargers to? i'm open to any suggestions, would you go with the supercharger over the turbo?

RE: turbo
its just a give and take thing
turbo is harder to install, but makes more power.
turbo kit is more expensive than s/c kit
DYI turbo can be done as cheap as a s/c kit, but requires even more work and knowledge.
if you got the time and money a turbo is the way to go.
struggling with this question right now myself.
