rough idle and and brake pedal noises
problem #1) when i sit at idle for too long my car decides it has a cam in it, when it doesn't. it just goes from normal to lopy after about 3 minutes of sitting. i thought maybe it's the iac but i've cleaned that and it made no difference. i've not messed with anything else so i'm woundering what it could be. i know some of you are thinking maybe a vacuum leak, this might be where problem #2 comes into place.
problem#2) there is a loud hissing sound coming from my brake pedal at all speeds. it only gets quiet when i step on the brake pedal or go to WOT. i've looked under the dash and about the only thing i can figure out is that there is a hole somewhere in the actual brake booster that is causing the noise. anyone had these problems before? could the idle be because of the brake booster? any help is always appreciated. |
RE: rough idle and and brake pedal noises
forgot to mention its a '92 gt, 5.0, 5/spd and a set of gt-40p heads. cold air intake and msd 6al with the matching coil. if it means anything.

RE: rough idle and and brake pedal noises
Sounds like the brake booster is leaking and that can cause problem # 1 @ idle.
