Default pushrod length?

ok so iam trying to figure out my pushrod length i have a adjustable pushrod . now i did it like this is this the way to do it ??? tigthen the rocker down while the lifter is on the back side of the lobe? and tighten it while spinning the pushrod with my finger tips until ot doesnt move?? that is the part that iam not sure about.ialso marked the top where the roller tip meets the sping with black marker to make sure that it is running in the middle . well it in the middle perfect straight line .well the size pushrod it is 6.25 does that sound right??? also i went on summit to look at parts to run with t/f stage 2 cam and that was also the lenght of the pushrods so i guess i did it right ? iam just trying to make sure that this is the way to check for length

Sounds like you did it right. You take the measurement when you get zero lash, that is where you get a bit of restriction in the pushrod while spinin it with your fingers and tightening the rocker at the same time. You have to make sure the cam is at its lowest point, lobe pointed down.

Mine moved quite a bit once I got the lifters and pushrods in and torqued down the rocker arm, especially since the lifters didn't have much oil in them. I'm running the TFS 1 cam and I'm using my original pushrods. I beleive that stock length is 6.2 in.?

Yes, you stop tightening when you just feel it have a bit of resistance between the lifter and the rocker. You'll be able to freely spin it with your fingers while tightening, and once you feel it get a bit of resistance you stop, and its at zero lash.

Read up on that a bit, it'll explain word for word how to adjust your rockers.

lets also not forget that the adjustable pushrod will help you get the roller tip of the rocker in the correct location on the valve stem. once you get it in the right spot, measure the length of the pushrod and order a set

Questions........

1. Did you use hyd lifters made solid and set at 0 lash?
2. When you check at 0 lash, are you adding the lifter preload spec?......need to add .030" - .040" to your PR length results, to provide for lifters preload.

Just a thought....
