I was just wondering cuz it could be a cheap race car in the future, but what all do you need to make a 460 work in a fox mustang? I see engine mounts for the swap all the time. And I hear with ported heads and a nice cam and some nitrous you can get 'em into the high nines pretty easily. Sounds like fun to me!

a lot and if ur going big block and u want to do it on a budget i dont kno if 460 race from ford is he way to go, either try and find a 460 from a junk yard truck or lincoln or stick to the small block, 351 CLEVELAND, or if u have tons of money and it is not an issue go boss 429 on ebay they run for like 15 grand

but it would take new motor mounts push the strut towers back it should clear the firewall pretty good, oil pan new k member new hood, transmission, so proba a crossmember, along with other things, so its a long and involved process

i saw in hot rod they did an H/C/I swap with a carberator and made over 500 horse. with a junk yard 460.

the 460's were nothing special they just had tons and tons of torque the prob with them is they are so big but compared to a chevy big block of that size not that good, u should def be able to hit 8 wit a 460, n/a but they are so heavy and expensive people just use nos or blow them, if i were u it would be probably just as easy to make 500 horsepower from a sbf like a 351 cleveland, or a boss 429 makes that much stock so think about it, i saw 351 cleveland with ported out stock 4v heads and a huge cam 500 hp, but thats jmo

Not to be a dick, but i just said you can get a motor for like 200. thats for a long block. I can get it rebuilt for cheap (inside connection) and Hot Rod says with heads cam and intake you can get 500 horse. Thats like 3000 grand in the motor, plus if i get bigger heads and bigger cam even more power (that was with a streetable set up) I am goin for full race here. Then smack it with a 200 shot. Should run 9's. Thats better than spending 15 grand on a boss.

I like my old chevy's 1972 is the newest chevy I would have*L* my camaro....it's a 496 kb engine...now my S/C nova is my fun car with it's 8/71 on top....kinda hard on gas though
