i have a 93 gt hatch back (obviously) and the rear hatch will not open, the key goes in and turns but the hatch does not open, it feels a touch loose but nothing other than that, any help

Did you try the remote release to see if you can open it? If you turn the key and pull up on the hatch does it open? I know when I got my 93 LX the stops weren't adjusted right so you'd turn the key and wouldn't hear anything and the only way you could open it was to hold the key turned and pull the hatch open. Once I adjusted the stops and it put a little load on the latch it would pop open when you turn the key.

this is a really stupid question and i know you will think i am an idiot but do all mustangs have a remote release because i looked, not to hard but didnt see one, i tried the pulling up when the key was turned but didnt help

hah, mine opens sometimes if i push the hatch a certain way. it worked wonders when i locked my keys inside the car, but it makes noises when i go over a bump [:@]

yea its in the glove box... right under/or over the fuel door release...

i just got the car four days ago and is my first mustang, but it doesnt have a fuel door release, it just opens from the outside

really? thats odd, i thought all of em had it... theres nothin in the glove box... to teh far left(closest to the driver?), in my, and any other stang ive seen(including a 02gt) they had that set up, so i assumed we all did... idk... guess i was wrong... someone else w. a 93 will be able to help tho, dotn worry

ok just tried the remote release and it makes noise but no open, must be some thing out of alignment?

Yeah, you should have a yellow "trunk" button in the top left of the glove box.

I think they stopped the fuel door release on the stangs either 90 or 91.
