Default Smog Pump Removal?

Has anyone removed or bypassed their smog pump, and if so did they notice an improvement in performance. Also I will be retaining my catalytic converters, so will I have problems with burning them up? Any opinions would be appreciated.

I bypassed my smogpump with a smaller belt and i still have my cats. I did notice a little difference afterwards. Must have been clogged up or something...or whatever would cause resistance. But so far my cats are fine.

why bother to remove the pump if you leave the cats? you get more power by removing the cats then you would by bypassing the pump if your going to have to pass smog again, just buy a catless h-pipe. its not that hard to install.

I used an 84". it fits perfectly. after being driven for a while and stretched out its still right exactly in the middle of the acceptable tension range.
