ok, first you want to get exhaust, this will give you some horsepower and also give you more hp as you do other mods, plus you get the GREAT sound!!! then you want to get some parts that will help it breath in easier, like cold air intake, throttle body, mass airflow meter( make sure you get one that is calibrated for the correct size injectors), then if you have enought money get an intake. all of these combined will GREATLY increase your horsepower! Oh ya, and get gears, they will let you take advantage of the power you already have. GOOD LUCK, hope this helped

Yeah these cars are very suprising. The biggest thing restricting these cars are their breathing capabilities. There is a beat up old POS 5.0 LX with 215,000 miles, all it has done is an X-pipe with no cats... Stock engine, intake, headers, etc.... It has a set of 3.73's and some M/T Slicks. It pulls off a strong 13.6 - 13.8 avg. each trip to the track, and he drives it there. He got the car for free. Imagine that.

Before you get headers you may want to think about what type of heads you are going to get. You dont want to buy headers you are going to replace a little way down the road. & if you want to feel hp from that CAI look into phenolic spacers. After the exhaust & intake mods bigger injectors & an msd wouldn't be a bad idea. A couple guages to replace factory stupid guages arent a bad idea either I wouldn't be saying that if my oil pump hadn't f***ed up half my engine.

What excatally does a phenolic spacer do?

I was looking at them online... they say dont use with anything over a 65mm throttle body?

Anyone planning on doing serious mods will upgrade past 65mm throttle body.

I have a 1in spacer with a 70mm throttle body. All it does it help cool down the air between the upper and lower intake.
