Default is it safe to remove screen in the mas air???

just wondering if its any benifit by removing the screen inside of the mas air?

i think its there for morons that want to shove stuff in there, fuzz would obvyously burn up in there, same with a bug would you want that? thats up too you, you have an air filter for a reason!
