My motor plan.

My motor plan.
So this is what I wanna do. I am really tryin to decide hard on the direction i go with my car before I do anything because its best to have a plan and work toward a goal than to buy this here and that there and have no real direction with what you are trying to do. I wanna bad *** street car that will hold its own at the strip. So i was thinkin of keepin it simple and just doing the regular bolt on suspension stuff. Rear and front control arms, lower it, sub frame connectors. For the motor this is what i was thinkin, probe 347 shortblock with an edelbrock or holley top end kit with a 100 shot of nitrous. My main question is the motor, thats basically all i wanna do is a 347 short block and a top end kit. Do you think this is a good idea? Let me know some tips and stuff and your .02 would be appreciated greatly.

RE: My motor plan.
347 will be a good engine
100shot on a 347 runs the risk of splitting the block and causing other issues like leaking head gaskets.
dont get a top end "kit" for a 347, those kits are made for 302ci engines and will not
let a 347 breathe to its full potential.
get a head/cam combo from www.camshaftinnovations.com and put a Holley Sys II intake on it.
Make sure you get some longtube headers and an Anderson Power-pipe for intake.
347's need a lot of air in and out to make the power they are capable of.
also........ check out www.fordstrokers.com they sell CHP/Probe stroker kits cheapest I've seen.
make sure you have a good "race engine" shop put it together to tight tolerances and specs.

RE: My motor plan.
No, not unless you specify you want a 4 bolt main block.
DSS sells them as their "XR" line.
Coast high doesnt list prices but will build you one if you want.
btw: pretty sure that Probe owns Coast High, like their own in house engine build shop i think
