well i got a little over $5,000 to put toward the mustang, what's the best way to invest into my mustang, something has to be done about the 175,038 miles on the engine besides taking it out to pasture and shooting it!

Why not rebuild your motor with summits forged kit? $460.00
Holley systemax kit $2200.00
Misc. oil,antifreeze,etc $75.00
Vortech 5lb kit $1900.00
-------------
$4635.00
Now you have $400.00 plus to put into your suspension
and/or fuel system.

Should be over 400 hp.

Coast High Performance has long fixed the oil consumption of the 347. www.coasthigh.com
Coast High is the sh*t with ford stroker kits. I chose to run a 331 because I didnt wanna do the extra boring on the block that would be required by the 347. I just wanted more cubes but I didnt wanna worry about comprimising block integrity. A 347 is the most you can get out of a 302 so your streatching the 5.0L it to its limits with the 347 kit. Like I said before, I want power and reliability sense I drive this car everyday.

Turbo 393 stroker!!! That's what I'm doing, should be around 800-850 horse. It'll make my wallet alot thinner though, about $12,000 worth...
You are out of your mind if you think you can build a turboed 393w stroker for $12,000.00, i got more than that into my non turboed 408, with a stock block.
I've built a decent mid rpm twin turbo kit for $1100. Easily pushed 14psi. that leaves $10,900.

Excuse me for not being specific with my input [sm=tongue.gif]. I meant that a 347 is streathing the 5.0 to its limits, my point is that anything over 347 isnt gonna last to long. Hell, 347 strokers are just now gettin to where they last more than 10k miles. Thanks to coast high, you can finally get a reliable 347 engine. Just from what Ive read, and talked to guys at local speed and machine shops, 347 is about the limit you wanna go for a reliable engine.

yep your right 94Cbra, if you want reliablity and performance go with a 331 stroker, the 347 is to the limits and doesnt do so well with power adders as the 331
