Hello all.
I'm having a bit of a dilema. I need a list of all the parts that I will need to do my 96 3.8 to 95 cobra 5.0 swap. I read the article from 5.0 magazine and they just listed EEC Harness, EEC computer (does this have to be from a Cobra?), Throttle cable and linkage, Exhaust hangers, V8 A/C lines, and V8 radiator and fan control. My question is, is there anymore parts I need because I am installing a Cobra motor? I am using the stock 96 auto trans just for temporary. I'm also running a K&N cold air kit. I'm trying to get this project underway this weekend so any help would be appreciated. thanks all.

to be honest u mite as well by a cobra... you goin to spend a ton... and just cobras have special computers... not the same as te gt's.... just a gt to cobra converstion is like 5-6 grand if u do a good job.... v6 - cobra is going to cost 10 i wouls guess.... of course thats if its done well

I've got a buddy who owns a salvage yard, he's got a few totaled Cobras in there (where I got the engine from). I just need to know what exactly I need to get from them. I have to buy the wiring harness because they are trashed. My main concern was the EEC Computer if I could use a GT or it had to be a Cobra and anything else I need to get to get me driving on the road. Thanks for the help.

i well of course u could use a gt computer but u would have to get it tuned... cuz the cobras have more air flow than the gts so the A/F chart used will be different..... i think it would be ezer 4 u if u use all cobra stuff... also the brakes are different as well... and if u pulled the hole enigne u should have gotten everything u needed there... thn the body kit of course.... a lotta ppl forget about the brakes tho... thats one think i always keep.... they dont really have nething special as far as interior... i do think they are all leather... with the mach 460... but that should be ez to do... and the t5 is cheap... so if u can get the engine and computer cheap you good off.... u may just have to buy a new computer if all the salavae yard ones are fried....that will be pricy... or u could get a mega squirt... wouldnt be a cobra ECU tho

did every one forget about changing motor mounts? so he'll need to cut and weld them in the right place or get a gt/cobra k member

i would jsut get hte k member... aftermarket one unless you goin for perfet cobra replica.....

a perfect cobra replica would be stupid amounts of pricy... considering body kit (paint), leather interior, not to mention all the time i would take to convert every thing, i would be easier and cheaper to by a cobra... but then again insurance would be cheaper if you just did the swap, but not enough to justify the swap just my .02

the v6 to a cobra wont be worth anything when you get done and there will be less head scratching everytime something goes wrong, jmo

I'm not going for the Cobra replica. I realized it would just take to much time and lots of cash. I was given the cobra engine so I figured what the hell swap out the tired v6. I am redoing the interior, using the ones from the my friends salvage yard. I won't be able to use the K members though because the cobras he does have are all front end collisions. I was told I only needed to swap out mounts. As of today this is what I have gotten for parts. Cobra EEC, exhaust, throttle cable and linkage, GT radiator with GT fan control module, K&N cold air kit, complete dash cluster from a 94 cobra. The cobra engine I have is complete with all sensors on it and MSD Distributor. How am I looking for completion? I think I'm going to do a step by step photo for this swap because I noticed it seems to be a popular question in this forum. thank you all for helping me out. keep the advice coming.
