whats the difference between a spool and a mini spool?

A mini spool retains the factory the carrier, the part that has the ring gear attached to it. You basically remove the differential/guts (side gears, clutches, spring, etc) and replace it with (2) solid side spacers with notches. The notches are where (2) blocks slide into to lock the right and left axles, then insert the c-clips and pin.
A spool is one piece that replaces the entire carrier and differential. You have to remove the ring gear and install on the the spool. You also should re-check back lash. Spools require you to convert to C-Clip eliminators. You can't use the factory c-clip.
With a mini spool, you can have either. Mini spools to wear. Constant shock from launching wears the blocks or notches in the side spacers.
I recently replaced a freinds mini with a full spool due to excess wear which esults in a lot of "clunking".

dont try driving your car on the streret with a spool... its not fun, or easy

my dad had one in his car and he said it was fine just dont take turns fast is there anything else wrong with them?

yea thats not a big deal its just goin to be a weekend cruiser and see the track a couple times

im also gonna put a spool in my car this winter. i just got a set of 31 spline moser c clip axles for a good deal..so will i have to run a c-clip eliminator kit with a spool?
