I HAVE A 84 GT. I RECENTLY CHANGED THE THE FUEL PUMP, THE TIMING CHAIN SET, FUEL FILTER AND MY CAR STILL WONT START I TESTED THE COIL AND CONTROL MODULE AND THEY BOTH TESTED GOOD. I RAN OUT OF IDEAS TO CHECK. DO U GUYS HAVE ANY IDEAS? IM STRESSED OUT OVER THIS CAR. LET ME KNOW IF YA KNOW WHAT IT COULD BE. THE STARTER KICKS OVER AND EVERYTHING BUT IT WONT TURN ON

So was this a problem leading to the replacement of listed parts? Have you checked for spark at the plugs and are you getting fuel?

YEA I CHECKED FOR SPARK AND FUEL. IT HAS BOTH AND I DONT KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO. SOME BODY TOLD ME IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP SO CHANGED IT AND NOTHING. THE TIMING WAS WAY OFF SO I CHANGED THE TIMING CHAIN I MADE SURE EVERYTHING LINED UP AND IT DID. BUT NOW I DONT KNOW WAT ELSE IT COULD BE

Wouldn't the timing being way off have to do with the position of the distributor and not the timing chain (unless you're talking about cam timing)? Maybe your timing w/ the distributor is just way off.

U KNOW HOW YOUR DISTRIBUTOR HAS TO LINE UP WITH DA PISTON AND DA TIMING CHAIN HAVE TO LINE UP TO. I DID ALL DAT BUT STILL IT WONT TURN ON

I assume you checked the battery and alt. Are you sure things are connected correctly on the engine. Sorry if that sounds weird, but a friend of mine replaced his engine and we connected something wrong and it didn't start, took him a couple weeks to figure it out. It was fairly simple too, I can't remember what it was exactly though.

Does it sound normal when it's cranking. Did you get the dizzy lined up on TDC when you reinstalled it? And are you SURE the t/c gears were lined up correctly. How many miles on this thing. Only really 3 components to starting a motor. Fuel, spark and compression. Might wanna check the last one next.

check distributor wires. And to check the distributor, take off the cap and crank the car. if the rotor button turns the shaft and gear are good.

dumb question but it happens. Does it have gas? I had an 84 that told me I had an eighth of an tank when empty. Take off the gas cap and shake the car and see if you hear sloshing in the tank.
