Hi!

I'm new to these forums with the purchase of an '87 LX 5.0 T-Top. The car I bought is pretty beat cosmetically. The doors are rusting at the bottom. I am wondering if convertible doors are the same as t-top doors? I read a random mustang parts ad on eBay where the seller stated that covertible doors wouldn't work on a t-top car. Just need to know if this is true before I invest in convertible doors. I did do some searching but didn't find anything. Thanks!

ive done it. it works. I had an 88 lx t-top that had a bad door. Conv worked fine. until my brother totalled it

LX t-top? thought they were only gt's

they might have been installed. I dont know anything about the car and that was 5 years ago. We should look that up

more likely someone took the GT molding off and made it an LX at some time

never heard of an LX t-top.

i have an 88 t-top gt and have the same problem and i plan on swapping out the windows over to rust free doors keep your windows i have been told that they are not the same. i have to sets of t-top windows just in case .i suggest you do the same find an t-top donor car and hold on to the windows and t-tops.

They did make LX t-tops, but the GT's are way more common. There are also notch t-tops as well. I just saw one of those a few weeks ago. Never knew that.

not sure about the doors themselves, but the vert windows are a bit smaller than the t-top windows, so the windows wont fit...and i assume the doors wont work because of that reason

same doors different glass, the conv glass i think is shaped different at the rear near the 1/4 glass, in fact hard top door can be cut and turned into conv or t-top doors too !
they do make lx t-top cars as i have one that was a 84 lx with a 6cyl coupe
think that all the doors will interchange from 83-93 with no problems just use the correct glass and trim for your application
