lol EVERY t-5 grinds into reverse because there is no syncro for reverse. put it in 1st or 5th before reverse and it won't grind... and yes get it rebuilt before you have more problems.... is it your DD or do you have another car you could drive for like a month or 2???

not that hard but it you skip anything your pretty much screwed... and adder that makes alot of sence i did mine in the garage of my parents house and just took the case to my neighbors to prees in the new bearing retainers took me aobut 4 hours or so... pain in the *** if you don't have every thing you need right there lol... and to get it done at a shop your looking 600-1200 depending on how reputable the shop is. 200 for parts and a few tools and you can do it but gotta make sure the bearing preload it right

Mine does the same thing, since it's colder outside. It doesn't full-on grind yet; the stick just sort of kicks back gently in my hand. It's almost like, if a grind is a series of gear teeth hitting each other, mine just feels like one tooth hitting one tooth...if that makes any sense.

even though i just changed the fluid 3 months ago probaly wouldnt hurt to do it again and make sure the right fluid is in there before i look into getting a rebuild. the car has 130000 on it thought and i dont think its ever been done so it probaly needs it
