Just trying to figure out if there's been any 5 spd guys that can compare with RSW007 off the bottle.
A 5 speed car and a good driver with the same exact mods as rsw minus the transmission and nitrous would be faster.

E-mail Bob Cosby. Tell him it's impossible to run 12s with the same mods in a 5 speed car and see what he says.

all day long.........a 5-speed w/ the same mods as a aod will run almost 1 full second faster.

unless the (5) 5.0's i have owned , combined w/ the (12) 5.0's my friends and family have owned that i have personally driven are some kind of fluke to the norm.

the best i have on an aod is 14.40's stock motor 3.73's and mickeys
the best i have on an aod on 100 shot is 13.60's
the best i have on a 100% bone stock 5-speed w/ street tires is 14.20's
5-speed bone stock motor mickeys and 4.10's is 13.20's
5-speed 4.10's mickeys, 75 shot is 12.50's

you can argue all day long about the aod, look at the gearing.

and instead of asking for those to prove to you, you will need to prove otherwise.
i have a shoebox full of timeslips that show the aod VS t5 diff

Well gentlemen. I don't know what you guys want out of a fox body mustang, but I am not impressed. I have owned (12) mustangs, I have built them for all kinds of people for all kinds of applications. I thoght you might get a kick out of a car I put together about 5 years ago. I built a '79 Mercury Capri (because of the extra 1.25 of tire clearance in the fenders), fitted it with all '88 mustang trim ( because let's face it the Capri trim is ugly), bolted in a '85 roller block with a set of 351 widsor heads (ported, polished, stainless valves, double springs, roller rockers), an FMS F cam, an edelbrock '68 torquer intake, and a holley 1850 625 cfm vac secondary, utilized a MSD 6AL, and stripped all the bull from the engine. This car had an 8.8" with 3:55 gears, sub frame connectors and an t-5 out of a turbo thunderbird. It weighed in at 1900 lbs without driver and a full tank of gas (all 10 gallons). This car, driven by a talented client of mine, consistantly ran 11.95s @126 mph. It was the town joke for months because it cost in total (car, parts, engine, rearend, rims, and tires) 3,500 dollars. It was never painted because it was just funnier to leave it the way it was. I built it just to make all those guys that spend all that money to go fast stop and think about what they were doing, because this car would beat them time, and time again. The car lasted a full season, but finaly died when the engine came flying apart while racing a rice rocket on the way home from the track one night. Hope this might make you boys think as well as entertain you. Speed can be achieved through much cheaper and simpler means.

I didn't say that it was impossible I just wanted to see the time slips to see how they compare. You guys are taking this out of porportion. If no one here has done it that's fine, don't get so offended over a ****ing transmission. I've never heard of an all suspension/gearing/tranny/tire 12 second 5 spd car and I wanted to see the time slip for one and compare it to RSW's.

Where was I arguing about the AOD in this post?

and instead of asking for those to prove to you, you will need to prove otherwise
What do I need to prove?

in totally stock form sticks are a full second faster like nitrous bob said.

but

a stick car with the same bolt-ons and suspension mods would be about a tenth or so faster than a good stalled aod car.

but

put them side by side on the same drag radials and make 6 passes and the wins will be split. due to aod's consistane. ive done it before so i know.

my car is not stock, my motor is. so im not a good comparison.

Sure you are, that's exactly what I'm looking for. Any modding goes, except for the motor/exhaust.
