If you're going 351 based, I wouldn't worry about a Dart block unless you were building a 9 sec car. It's not required at that level, but as long as you're spending the money, go for it. I have 3 street/strip cars (all with stroker motors, spooled rearends and cages) so that's why I used a stock block on my coupe. My hatch has a Dart block and the other is a Chevy (Chevy blocks are much stronger).
Whatever you do, don't buy a DSS block.
