94 GT

RE: 94 GT
I've learned that a lot of people buy the 94-95s for much more than they're worth because they don't know much about them. They think wow; I get the 5.0 in the SN-95 body style. They don't realize they really lag in power and the computer sucks, which makes modding difficult. I know because I paid $8k for my stock 94 Cobra last year with 109k miles, and it has been a disappointment. I started by adding exhaust, a K&N, and advancing the timing, but the power just isn't there. I had trouble beating a 99 V6 one time. Everyone that drives my car expects it to have crazy power because it's a cobra, but they're sadly disappointed. I've decided to get the bill down to about $6k and find someone who was in my position last year to buy it. Most likely this is what your seller is doing. I've owned every main body style of mustang now, and the 94-95 is the only one that I can't brag about.
Oh yea, mine also had a new paint job when I bought it, but it turns out it was a cheap one so the paint is already coming off! I'd guess the one you're looking at is worth about $5K tops, and that's pushing it.
Do a little research on the pit falls of the 94-95 stangs...it would have saved me a lot of trouble and heart-ace if I did.

Did you do a tune up when you got it. Cars with over 100k need some work to get back the power they had when new.

RE: 94 GT
I had mine tuned with a Superchip on a dyno and the computer works fine with this piggyback item.
The thing I like about the 94-95's is that you just make it under the 1996 year for smog tests (OBD-II).
The body is solid and the cabin is nice for long rides.

Yea, it helped a little. I think the stock cobra gears contribute to the lack in pull as well. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't call my car slow, but it doesn't respond the same way my 88 lx or even my 98 gt did. When I bought it, I was expecting a lot more. The biggest improvement I got was when I bumped te timing from 10 to 14 degrees. Of course shortly after I did that the infamous harmonic balancer seal in the 94-95s started slipping out, so I had to replace it. I didn't notice it in time and now I can't get an accurate reading on my timing. Not even with a timing light. It's floating around 14 now, but I can't be sure.
