so i need to vent.... i put my audio system from my truck for sale on ebay, got a guy that emailed me outside of ebay, wanted to buy it. went through all the dealings, emails, whatever. got the check yesterday, deposited, came home to shower, got out of the shower, and the bank was on the phone, telling me fraudulent check. DAMNIT. i needed that money.

You shouldnt have anything to worry about then, hopefully. Atleast you didnt ship it so. Do what you can to report the other guy for writing bad checks and his bank (if the account theyre using was even real to start with) should look into it. Talk to your bank on what to do im sure theyll take care of you. With any luck you can help get the other guy arrested for fraud.

As you found out, selling an item on ebay off ebay is risky business with a check of any kind. Dont do it. As for me, i only deal with Paypal using a cc.

thats exactly why u dont sell outside of ebay...and i couldnt agree more that paypal is the best way to go if u have that option
