car dies when i put it in gear

im having some idle issues w/my 84 gt it is idling at 400-500 rpm ive adjusted the idle and that doesnt seem to do any good it will idle but when i put it in gear it dies unless i nuetral drop it any ideas on what could be wrong?

well, the only reason i can think of is your clutch is not adjusted right. Im assuming your a manual as one of your mods is a steeda tri-ax, if your an auto, could be your TC.

mess with the alen bolt in your idle air control.. you'd want it to idle around 800.. i had problems with my cam.. my car died too.. so just loosen the screw and idle it up
