changing gears won't make the light come on -- but chunks of metal that get out in the reluctor wheel or in front of the sensor and f*ck it up will definitely make the light come on!!
see if there's some metal in that differential, or in the axles :P
He is right, the sensor consists of a magnet and a tone ring...metal can get built up on the magnet and the sensor will stop working. Just wipe it off and see if that works. When you do a brake job thats part of the process is making sure their are no metal flakes on the sensor.
would putting taller tires on in back like 275 50s make the light come on. it only comes on after i hit 35 mph and stays on till i shut car off
