I havent done the job, but i can see what your saying. People said equal lenth headers are horrible but it wasnt bad at all.

Im doing mine right now also. Its not as bad as it seems. I'd never pay someone that much to do it, thats just insanity. There's not as many steps required as you'd think. There's only about 7 main screws holding it in, and the steering column setup.
Even if I had the money to pay someone to do it I wouldnt, it's not that bad!!

i just did mine it was worth the work cause i definatly dont think i would pay $600 for it. i wasnt that hard
and yes it does here my car is frozen every morning now... it gets down to 10-15 degrees here at night, but on average around 25-30.

it can be done in less than 3 hours if u work quick and if u gotta do it again it will take even less time
i did mine last year and im about to have to do it again make sure to buy a ford heater core or ull be doing it again like me also flush the coolant

price for a heater core change on a fox body is always high. It is a very time consuming job. Most shops charge so much because they rate it as a 2 day long job. If you have the time and patience I would say do it yourself.
