I am in DooDoo, got my heads and intake on...
So I got my car up and running today, jease what a relief. It moves it sounds hell of sick. It sounds like it has a cam because of the lopey sound... Problem is I am afraid to rev it high.
Reason: Smells extra gassy out the tailpipes, smokey as well (does smell like coolant nor look like oil)
Oil pressure still doesn't read after I just replaced the oil pressure switch
When I press the gas it feels like a cylinder isn't contributing (reminds me of when a spark plug boot falls off)
The roller rockers are extra loud (also doesn't look like oil is getting to them)
Plus: sounds like a drag car
engine looks sick now...
Anyways I will be getting a video up of it hopefully. It is my only transportation, I have been without it for 2 weeks and I am thinking of just using it still even though the oil is low, but only to get to work and back low rev'n. Anyhow what should I do next? Is there a way to manually check oil pressure. Im going to throw a code reader on it too. Mind you this is on a 87 SD car w/ stock 19lb's no maf, but stock cam.

RE: I am in DooDoo, got my heads and intake on...
roller rockers are loud ......... make a lot of clicking noise ........ go figure
after running if you took the valve covers off you should see some oil on them
not a ton but definately wet.
best way to check oil pressure to be SURE is to get mechincal pressure gauge and
hook it up. Summit sells em, you can mount them in gauge pod inside.
I WOULD NOT drive it at all until you are sure you have oil pressure, if you're
not pumping oil you will destroy your engine VERY quick.
fuel pressure and timing probably need to be phucked with
to help on it being rich and yes check the codes see what you get.

need to make sure the oil pressure is good did u make sure the oil pug was in in the back of the block underneath the manifold? hook up a mechanical gauge to it to make sure
also maybe pull the distributor to make sure the drive didnt fall into the oil pan

Not sure what you are talking about
Anyways thanks for all your guys advice, yes very noisey indeed, I expected that but then again I expected some oil too. I did my oilpan 2 months ago and I had fun trying to get that shaft between the distributor & the oil pump but it definately was working. The pressure gauge was working in&out, so it finally died (I thought.) It died quite some time ago before I started all the work and ran fine. With no oil pressure you think it would make it run weak like that? I got an adjustable fuel regulator, but never installed it because the guy that gave it to me said the gt-40 would probably interfere. I am going to get the pressure gauge on for the fuel line soon to see what I am getting.
oil pug was in in the back of the block
