RE: 3.73 track times
14.71 in a 1992 vibrant red convertible lx. it was the 2nd time out at the track. it only had u/d pullys, cai and a egr spacer. got it from a lady who had it since 1992, stock exhaust, stock motor, and everything, no other aftermarket parts at all. ppl at the track didnt really think it was stock and some wanted to take a look and found out it was. i heard 14.71 for a stock convertible with street tires was pretty good. i just got the gears in it and am hopin for a better time. btw it had 2.73's in it when i ran

Yea, our cars are essentially the same, except I had 2.5 flowmaster catback and the fuel pressure regulator. I bet you run about the same number as mine. Maybe even better. When you get the gears, I would look at buying a new differential and putting that in the while you're getting gears. It would save installation costs or time if you are doing it yourself. If you MUST have the stock trak-lok... rebuild it at least.

yeah i forgot to mention, i had the posi rebuilt. but yeah im hopin to drop a few tenths with the new gears and rear end. i think with a better 60 time it woulda been 14.5-14.6 easy. i hear its hard to get traction with the 3.73s and street tires, it was hard enough getting traction with the stock 2.73's. but hopefully once i get an aftermarket exhaust and a few other mods like urself, it will be in the low 14's. cuz i know the convertibles are a lil heavier and slower to start with.

RE: 3.73 track times
I ran a best with just 3.73 and some bolt ons(full exhaust, pulleys, cold air) of 13.9 at 100, but I cut a good 1.9 60 foot. My average was a 14.2 with a 2.1 60 foot. Those were on street tires also, I know the 60's aren't great.
