the welded brackets break off pretty easily. i have an ebay CAI on my focus and it broke inside of a week. i welded stronger brackets on it and eventually bought a K&N filter because the original one fell apart from rust. aside from that sometimes the finish will easily peel off. they're not completely crap, but they're worth what you pay for em' lol 35$

ahh... well i'll probably just keep it on for the winter and buy a nice one next spring. also, i have an air box lid from cervini's to make my hood scoops functional. is there a good chance the filter will fit that lid? i think i has a 4" cone on it now

Haha, yeah, actually I had the whole unit on there w/ the sc. When I went to the new mass air, it was longer than the c&l so I had to take out the upper piece but the rest is still there. Let us know how the cheapy brand works out. I've heard both good and bad things about the fitment.

Looks like this now

How it used to look
