Default gt-40 intake???

hey i get a real gt-40 intake that i want to put on my 1992 5.0, but i wanted to know if it would work with the stock exhaust. right now the engine is mostly stock, with changes soon to come. but i wanted to know since i have the intake just sitting around, if i can put it on and still keep the stock headers and exaust until i get some shorty headers and a x pipe???
thanks for any help

As long as its a GT-40 and not a GT-40P, then you will be fine.

i think cast iron gt40's would be just find. im sure the aluminum ones are more liable to crack if you overheat.

That's the intake off the 97 Explorer. Intake dosent have anything to do with your exhaust (as far as physically fitting under the hood). Youmean if you switch heads, that's the only time you have to worry about changing headers. The GT40P requires a special set of headers.

I dont believe there is such a thing as a "p" intake. Theintakeson the explorers are gt40e's.

The gt40p refers to heads on the 97.5 and up explorers

People (as I did) get confused, cause the heads are P but the intake is E..
