i'm looking to get the BBK shorty headers. Are headers fairly easy to install or is it a pain? and should you get a tune after or no?

BBK Ceramic Coated Shorties Equal Length

Reasons:
1. One pieceflange will not warp or twist from heat
2. Ceramic Coating retains heat keeping exhaust gases flowing and engine bay cool
3. Shorties maintain low end torque while flowing upto 450hp efficiently
4. BBK is known for precision exhaust components and has a good warranty
5. Despite the stories of equal length install hardships, which are caused from weakening motor mounts, they look great and flow equally and create equal backpressure.

what are the pros and cons in comparison to long tubes (ie why get longs if they are such a pain?)

As far as I've read on here, you should only get long tubes if you are gonna be pushing some major HP.

Longtubes scavenge the exhaust better and faster thus producing more torque but very little hp over shorties on a lower horsepower motor. You will want to use longtube on a 400hp motor.

I would go with the chrome 1 5/8" shorties that summit makes. They have the good quality BBK but are alotcheaper.

My brother bought a brand new set on the summit ones for his car for a custom turbo set-up. He then relized its was harder then it looked and just bougth some cCartech ustom turbo headers for it.

Their brand new not even used, I don't know if he will sell them though.
I will let you know if he does.

Our came with BBK chrome shorties and they were nice headers. WE took them off and went with some ceramic L/Ts and they are awesome. THey still shine and they sound awesome (my brother and his freidns say it wounds "wicked"). I later put the shorties on a friends car and they fit perfectly. I dont know how long they had been on the car. Id personally go with longs. Only drawback to them is you have to get a new H-pipe.
