Increased vibration after AOD to TKO swap

RE: Increased vibration after AOD to TKO swap
Well, I spoke too soon. (I just skimmed the article before I made my last post.). But, if I CAN use the T5 member with a TKO and I can't use the AOD member with a T5, in turn you shouldn't be able to use the AOD with a TKO. Hell, I may be wrong as wrong can be!

Thinking about an overdrive-transmission swap for your vintage Mustang? This look at the parts and procedures is a good place to start.

Crossmember & Mount
It is important to have the crossmember located properly to the rear mount location on the transmission. Modifications that result in an "overhang" or cantilevered mount will result in vibration and potential to cause severe damage to the transmission. Proper mount height and crossmember location are very important to maintain correct driveline angle.
Straight off tremec's website. Perhaps this is the case........

From an article on a AOD to T5 swap.
Q Do I need a new crossmember?
A You don't need a new crossmember, but it will have to be modified to fit a T5 tranny if you want to reuse it. You'll need to grind the motor mount slots, or grind the weld spots on the bushing cylinders so that you can move the crossmember and line it up with the tranny mount. Its a lot easier to get a used T5 crossmember and the price is usually not too much. If you are swapping in a tranny that is longer than a T5 (Example: TKO), the AOD crossmember will work fine.

My AOD cross member has slotted holes for the bolts that connect to the exhaust hanger, which then bolts to the tranny, so it is located directly under the rear mount. Should be fine, but I will mess around with the hieght to see if I see any increase or decrease in vibration.

I am also wondering why there seem to be so many vibration issues. If I can find a good shop with the right tools, I may have them look at it. Didn't hear about these problems BEFORE I did the swap!
