Default RE: intake manifold question

I did the same thing with my old motor.

Bought a blown 97 Explorer motor for $500.00 at a local junkyard. Removed the heads and sent them out to be shaved 0.040" to 54cc's and have the spring pockets machined for 1.450" springs. Bought a set of AFM Hi-Rev valves springs for $200.00, Cleaned up the intake and heads and reused the stock 65mm TB all explorers came with.

Them parts combined with an F cam, 1.7 rockers, 76mm MAF, 1 5/8" Longtubes and a full 2 1/2" exhaust got me 277 RWHP/ 335 RWTQ @5900 RPMs.
Not bad for $700.00

Its worth the time and money to do the H/C/I set-up at once. You wont be crapping your pants for joy after installing just an intake and TB.

DO IT ALL AT ONCE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
