if he isn't burning all the fuel in it wouldn't make the timing slightly higher(1 or 2) hwlp to burn all the fuel??? and yea lowering the fuel pressure would help but it's kinda hard to do with out a adjustable fuel regulator isn't it?
not if you have a vaccum tool like I do... hehehe. you just slide the hose on the vac nipple and draw off some of the pressure.

yea i just wanna lean it out a little to pass emissions, then put it back to normal. runs fine, timing is stock, all that good shyt. but its failing by such a little bit if i lean it out a little i think i can get it to pass. yea shes failed 4 times now, i have a new egr comming in the mail(thanks to r.barn, thanks again man). originally it failed nox and the unburnt fuel thing(cant remember name of it), and now i got the nox to pass(tried that "guarenteed to pass" shyt, n it helped, but didnt pass, guess i get my money back now, lol). ii wouldnt even say its running rich, theres no signs of it at all, just wanna try to lower it down a little for emissions testing, then back to normal.

I don't know for a fact that it would work, but try unblolting the exhaust just a little, mabye a 1/4 inch gap. If you do it to much then the machine might read a leak (Don't know what machine they are using). It lets some air in with the exhaust and generaly helps lower all the numbers.

high nox = high combustion temps above 2500 dg f check timing(to far advanced will cause high nox),egr, lean A/F mixture will cause high nox, and check catalytic converter.

high hc = lean miss fire. check ignition system, plugs, plug wires, timing(put at stock or 2 degrees lower than stock), internal compresion, vacuum leaks, air injection system.

high co = running rich/incomplete combustion. check carb, injectors, dirty filter, air injection system(air pump)

if push comes to shove just replace you cats and you shoud be fine!!!!!! i hope this helps you it would suck for you to sell you car over bar(bureau of automotive repair). I got this from bar smog check inspection manual. one more class and i get my smog license.
