Default 5.0 Performance

i bought a 95' mustang gt w/ the 5.0 & automatic tranny. the engine will need some work because there is a cylinder that is pinging. we did a compression test on that side and the lowest was 125psi and the highest was 140psi. the tranny is a little rough from 1st to 2nd. i am planning to rebuild the engine and put some extra in to give me some more horses. i would greaty appreciate suggestions to put the engine at around 300hp ball park. i am not sure on what to get since im new to the performance stuff. im gonna have the transmission rebuilt and have a shift kit put in. im gonna be using it as a daily driver and bringing it to the track every once in a while. im not sure how much hp it would take to make it into the 13sec range but that would make me happy

ohh and some rear end gears
if an auto - 4.10's
if stick - 3.73's
that's what is recommended most by people
that will drop your 1/4 time a lot if you can put it to the ground

Why not nitrous? It's cheap and since it will be your daily driver it shouldn't affect reliability at all.

Are you sure about that man? I've heard some gruesome stories about that stuff like burning holes in pistons and stuff.
