THROTTLE BODIES!!1
Wondering about throttle bodies.
Right now, I've got the Cobra manifold with a CAI and a 73mm recalibrated Cobra MAF, stock motor, BBK unequal 1 5/8th " headers, and flowmaster rear pipes (2.5").
I'm thinking about getting a few more things to compliment this stock-motor setup.
First, a Mac off-road Prochamber, and 2nd, a throttle body.
What size and brands of TB's do u all recommend? What's easiest to calibrate the IAS with? What size would you all use with my setup, and also, what size would you all recommend with a KenneBell twin-screw unit?
I'm thinking 65mm for what I have now (including the prochamber), and 70mm if I get the kennebell eventually. Is this right?
I also plan on throwing in some Roller rockers if I have to remove my upper manifold for any reason at all, so I would want a throttle body that will allow me to put in higher valve covers also.
Thanks everyone.

For what you have now a 65mm would do fine. If your trying to pull every pony out of your setup and you go with a h/c/i + kb setup you would go with a 75mm tb. If you dont want to buy and than swap just go with a 70mm. It will be fine for both setup's. Accufab all the way.

RE: THROTTLE BODIES!!1
^^ Blue is correct. W/ your stock heads, 65mm N/A and maybe a 70mm w/ boost. 75mm if you get better heads.
FYI: The stock heads will be the restriction w/ or w/o boost. If you do a head swap and plan on running boost soon, go ahead and grab a 75mm TB (you'll want a larger MAF, too, since yours is 73mm). If it will be a while before you'll run boost, but you can do a head swap, grab a 65 or 70mm TB (65mm for GT40 or P heads, 70 for AFR's, TW's, or other higher flowing heads).

Yeah, I don't think my pistons could handle heads and a blower to tell you the truth I'd rather just be pushing around 330rwhp and be done and happy.
How are professional products throttle bodies? I know they're cheap, but I recall reading a few good things about them- have people changed their minds yet or are they made well?
How about MAC? I have a chance right now to jump on a MAC 70mm TB for $110 shipped. What do you guys think of MAC for TBs?

I tend to stay away from Mac TB's and headers, but that's just my opinion. Accufab is by far the best quality TB you can get, but I know a lot of people running PP TB's. Also, BBK (made by Edelbrock) is a good one.

awesome, thanks everyone.
Yeah, I don't plan on getting a 75mm... it's either 65 or 70. I guess I'll either go PP or accufab.
What's the difference between the ones that use the stock AIS and a new one? Are they precalibrated to the proper voltage?

Go with the 70mm... it will be good for both setup's. Also, BBK would be OK as long as you dont get one that whistles. From what I hear its about a 50/50 shot that its going to whistle or not. Mine did and I will never buy one again, its annoying as hell and its a very loud high pitch whistle that can be heard from 50 feet away.
